It's embarrassing to say... but my last publish was on September 13th. A bit disappointed.
I told myself that I would not be obligated to write constantly on this blog, so I shouldn't have the feelings I do. But, I do.
I won't apologize for a busy month, or for lack of interest due to the amount of craziness... BUT I will make up for this by saying, if you are reading this post today- thank you. I appreciate your NOT LOSS of interest. It's encouraging.
Since it's been so long, I decided I would link up with my good friend Cara. On Wednesdays, she links up with another blogger for a series called:
The theme this week?
5 things that make me happy when I am down....
1. Comfort from my husband- this could be cuddling me, playing with my hands, just holding me, hugging me, letting me cry on him, getting a sweet text... something to remind me that I have an amazing gift, my husband. And of my family.... A phone call or text from my family. Living in different states makes it a bit difficult to have a hug or a coffee date. So when they tell me how much they love me and miss me via text or phone call.... it can make me happy when I am down. They just make me down right smile.
2. My Emma-E. My niece. She gets her own category. Literally my heart has flipped upside down since she was born. It's such a different kind of love. But looking at her recent photos/videos... makes me happy. And to hear how much she is loved by my family and especially my husband can't hold back my smile. The joy of being Tee-Tee. :)
3. A pen in my hand and a notebook/pad. This may sound ridiculous, but sometimes just having a pen in my hand and a notebook next to me changes my day. I may not even write anything or draw a line, but I think it's that I am giving myself an opportunity to slow down and write if I need too. Literally, sometimes I will write ONE word and that's it. But for some reason, it makes me happy.
4. Reading a book outside on a blanket in the sunshine. This is probably a favorite hobby of mine. The tan I could get, the story I can get stuck in, the cushion of the blanket, and usually a cold beverage to cool me down brings me happiness. Nothing. Better. Than. This. Unless my sister or momma bear were with me. :)
5. BLASTING music as I do nothing. Not think. Not eat. No dream. Just be. Just be still. I am a homebody, can be extremely lazy and I definitely know how to relax... so when I get that time too- I do. And this makes my day a million times better. Especially with some candles, pillow, and a snugly blanket on a carpeted floor. :)
What about you? What makes you happy "when skies are gray" in your life?? :)
Happy Writing Friends,
Jamie
