the happenings...

Before this very special blog, I had another blog... called the Hoeppner's Happenings.
Most of the time, it was about my own happenings...
and it mostly reflected my first few months of being a married woman.
Instead of a blog, I decided I would keep a steady posts of "the happenings."

"The Happenings" will include various things such as:
- things to come,
- things that have already happened,
- some of my favorites (recipes, DIY projects, etc),
- book review/recommendation,
- maybe a funny picture or video.

I just think that sometimes it's nice to read a post to get to know the author... me. :) Maybe get to know me on a more "friendship" basis...ya know? Not EVERYTHING has to be this AMAZING life experience and heavy thought.

So with that, let's begin my first "The Happenings..."

The best weekly purchase I have been making: farmers market bouquets... you see why?

My favorite recipe for Fall:
I just recently found this amazing
soup called, "Autumn Sausage Corn Soup."  It is absolutely amazing... instead of getting frozen like it called for, I grabbed FRESH Snohomish Farm corn. It's so cheap right now because of the wonderful season we are having... I am talking 5/$1!! :) It's an easy recipe... and if you make this delicious/easy homemade bread... whoever you make this meal for will be satisfied, promise. (Daniel was very happy, and asking me for more!)

Are you looking to read this Fall? You should try the Ted Dekker Black, Red, White and Green "Circle Books." Each book connects to one another... and I have read the first two (Black and Red) and am waiting for someone to return White to the library! It's an extremely easy read, intriguing, and right now I am hanging off a cliff! The beauty of these books is the author used God's Word (from Genesis through Revelation) as the foundation of the book. The characters, the plots, everything connects as a metaphor to the story God created and continues to create! It's really fun to read and make the connections! Give them a try!
Just finished two Autumn decor "DIYs"... and they are adorable! They definitely have the "handcrafted" look to them that I love so much! I used some leftover twine (my favorite) and fabric that I have had hoarded in my garage for a "Fall Banner." My other little decor I made was made from recycled beer bottles (pumpkin ale, yummmmmy). Each bottle has a different letter that spells out to "thanks." Right now, I have flowers drying from one of my farmers market bouquets to put into the bottles... a sweet touch for the Autumn season.
A few things I am preparing for: my sister/niece/and momma bear coming to visit next weekend.... I am going to do some extra cleaning and prepping of food before they come so we can TOTALLY JUST HANG OUT. I have also prepared for this trip by buying my sweet niece a million outfits from Carter's. HOLY cow, so many cute outfits... everything I bought for the cold season (under $8)! And also preparing for Daniel's birthday, December 6th. I am planning something special and really hoping it will work out... and then Christmas. Figuring out plans to go to Cali to visit our families and saving now for gifts! Ahhhh!
I GET TO SEE THEM SO SOON!

This is just a few things that are "happening." I won't be making this a weekly obligation... I would like to do it as often as I need to. :)

What is happening in your life?

Happy Writing Friends!!
Jamie
