Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to my daddy! Happy birthday to you! Your kids wish we could be making memories like this with you this year!!
(Definitely watch the video below...)
This #throwbackthursday is going back to many Sundays I spent with my Daddy at the Raider games!
Ever since I could remember I had been watching, listening, rooting, and painting my face for the Raiders. I wasn't their biggest fan, rather I was my Daddy's biggest fan. So when I rooted for that team, I was really rooting for my daddy!
I grew up going to the games with him! My sister and I would switch off... but she REALLY didn't get into it until she was in high school. :) So I was fortunate enough to spend lots of quality time with my Daddy at the Oakland Coliseum!
Here are just a few things I remember from games with Daddy:
1. WE ALWAYS got snacks- this included licorice, sour straws, any soda, and definitely MORE CANDY!
2. We always parked underneath BART... or in a very illegal parking spot.
3. Always hold onto Daddy's belt loop- it was like a hook and I couldn't get lost.
4. Daddy, he is a fighter. When ever someone was "out of line" around us... he would remind them of this special little girl he brought with them. He always protected us at the games!
5. Even though I didn't totally understand the game, I LOVED being at the games with him. Watching him, in his element- excited, yelling, cheering... it was a blast!
This memory ALWAYS cracks me up. For YEARS, I thought my Daddy was a Raider himself. I thought that he tackled for the black and silver team, blood and sweat. I would tell ALL my friends that he played for the Raiders and that he was apart of the MVPs. I wasn't a liar. I mean, afterall, he did play for the Raiders. But of course, it was for a community league. But so young, how would I know?? :)
Anyways, this was years of my life. Just up until this last season! I would attend at least one game... but Rachel and Vince just love going! So, I generally didn't put up a fight!! Daddy, thanks for all the wonderful years of memories with the Raiders! You are truly amazing!!! And I love you!!! Happy birthday!!
